February 8 is the anniversary of Daniel J. Murphy.

Daniel J. Murphy was born in Glenn’s Falls, NY, in 1856. He entered the novitiate at Villanova, PA, in 1877, and was ordained in Naples, Italy in 1882.

Father Murphy served at Saint Mary’s Parish in Lawrence, MA; at North Troy, NY, and later at Saint Augustine’s in Philadelphia, PA; Villanova and at Saint Rita’s in Chicago, IL.

He died in Chicago on February 8, 1919 at the age of 63. He is buried in the Community Cemetery at Villanova.
