VILLANOVA, PA — Augustinian Friars of the Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova, who founded and sponsor Villanova University, are proud to announce the inaugural Saint Augustine Medal and its recipients Patty and Jay Wright. The Saint Augustine Medal is bestowed upon an individual or a couple who exemplify a deep commitment to the Order of Saint Augustine and the Augustinian values of Truth, Unity and Charity.

Father Michael Di Gregorio, O.S.A., Prior Provincial of the Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova will present the Saint Augustine Medal to Patty and Jay Wright at a celebratory dinner to be held on April 27, 2017, at 583 PARK AVENUE, an historic building located at 67th and Park Avenue, in New York City.

“Saint Augustine inspires us to a life of service. It is fitting that in Villanova University’s 175th year of operation as an Augustinian-led Catholic institution, we recognize the Wrights for their love of family, support for students, relentless desire to help people from all walks of life, active faith and continued generosity to the Province.” — Father Rob Hagan, O.S.A., Associate Athletics Director, Chaplain of Villanova University’s Men’s basketball and football teams.

Proceeds will benefit Augustinian Vocation and Formation programs.
Tickets for the event will be available on a first come/first served basis.

The Augustinians of the Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova are Roman Catholic priests and brothers following the Rule of Saint Augustine. They founded and sponsor Villanova University, Merrimack College, Malvern Prep and Saint Augustine Prep. Augustinians serve in a variety of ministries along the East Coast, including work in parishes and grade schools, and have missions in Japan and Peru. Augustinians collaborate with committed lay women and men, their benefactors and friends, and draw on resources from their institutions and volunteers to bring Christian ideals into real life situations, especially for those in need around the world.
