Please join the Lay Augustinians as they welcome Dr. Joseph T. Kelley, author of A Primer in Augustinian Spirituality: Communion, Participation, Mission for an introduction to the rich spiritual vision of St. Augustine of Hippo. Drawing on decades of teaching and formation within the Augustinian tradition, he will offer a clear and accessible guide to Augustine’s enduring insights on prayer, conversion, community, friendship, humility, and hope, and we will explore how Augustinian spirituality continues to inspire Christian life, dialogue, and mission in today’s world.
A copy of the book is not necessary to participate, but you may wish to get a copy to read before the webinars or to further explore Augustinian Spirituality in the future.
The series will be in three parts:
- June 16, 7:00 PM: Communion in Christ: the heart of Augustinian Spirituality (Please read pages 7-77 if you are reading along.)
- June 23, 7:00 PM: Participation in Community: Augustinian virtues for the common good. (Please read pages 79-133 if you are reading along.)
- June 30, 7:00 PM: Mission: the benefits of Augustinian spirituality for the Church and the world (Please read pages 135-161 if you are reading along.)
Attendees may come to one or all parts of the series. The Zoom link will be the same for each meeting, so once you register you do not need to register again. New registrants will receive the Zoom to the event in their confirmation email. Make sure our emails aren’t being caught by your spam filter!
A recording of each event will be available afterwards on the Lay Augustinians’ YouTube page.
