We experience God through community by living by the Rule of St. Augustine of Hippo.
We are a Catholic religious Order of priests, brothers, and sisters who serve God and His people.
The Augustinian Fund helps us sustain and grow our way of life and our ministries.
The Augustinian Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova is the East Coast Province of the Augustinian Order. We serve communities in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and other portions of the East Coast.
We are members of the Order of St. Augustine, an international Catholic religious community of men and women whose goal is to bring Christian ideals to real world situations and assist those in need.
Our brothers are united by one mind and one heart. We seek God together and are open to the service of the Church.
We follow Christ based on the Gospel and the Holy Spirit. Our principal document for our spirituality is the Rule of Saint Augustine, which drives our lives and actions based on:
St. Augustine was many things: a master theologian, a wayward son, a late life convert, a vibrant preacher, a devoted lover, a wise bishop, an affectionate father, an exceptional writer. He passionately embraced all of God’s creation without ever forgetting He who created it. He keenly understood human nature, famously saying, “Lord, give me chastity and continence, but not yet!” As the founder of our Order, we look to St. Augustine and his Rule every day to lead us to holier lives of service in our communities.
The Augustinian journey is characterized by the constant search for God through a deep interior life, the practical love of neighbors, and an ongoing pursuit of truth. Our search is reflected in the actions of our members. View our photo gallery to see how we share the gifts of God’s grace in communities around the world.
