This Day in Province History: August 28, 1916

Bishop Charles McDonnell of Brooklyn, wrote to Provincial Nicholas Murphy, granting the Province a foundation in Queens, New York, to be known as the Parish of St. Nicholas of Tolentine. The friars remained there until 1997 when the parish was given over to the diocese.
