So, whether we are office worker, truck driver, medical worker, student or happily retired – our duty is the same: to gather with other disciples and follow the Way of Jesus – the Way of Truth and Life in compassion, service and sacrifice looking forward to sharing with them that dwelling place in God’s House.

Pope Leo is inviting the whole Church to pray with him in April for priests in crisis, asking us to “pray for priests going through moments of crisis in their vocation, that they may find the accompaniment they need and that communities may support them with understanding and prayer.”

What was the ministry of Jesus? Some would say it was table fellowship.
Jesus spent a lot of time eating. He ate with sinners, such as the tax collector Matthew. He fed the 5,000. It was while he was eating that Mary Magdalene, a woman of ill repute, washed and dried his feet. It was at the Passover meal, the Last Supper, that Jesus gave us his total commitment of love for all time as he ate his last meal with his disciples and gave us the Eucharist. Even at his birth, eating and feeding were represented by Mary placing him in a manger, the place where animals were fed and nourished. Feeding and the nourishment of food was a part of the life and ministry of Jesus.
