CORONAVIRUS AND US
What to do when life is interrupted?

Certainly, we are living an extraordinary moment of time! The coronavirus pandemic, by definition, has reached the far corners of the earth and the challenges, fear and sorrow it causes unites us all in a common awareness of vulnerability. May suffering, once again, show its capacity to bring us together. From shared adversity can come shared compassion, acts of attentiveness, increased consideration for the common good and heartfelt prayer arising from profound awareness of our common human need. When life is interrupted, let us remember God’s continuous presence.

Let Me Know You: Steps in Discovering The Hidden God
Presented by Donald X. Burt, O.S.A.

Introduction: Climbing the Mountain
Three of the four gospel writers tell the story of the first time human beings were called to ascend a mountain to see the transfigured Jesus-God. Matthew gives the following description of the event: Six days after his first prediction of his passion and death, Jesus took Peter, James and his brother John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. And his face shone as the sun, and his garments became white as snow. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking together with him. Then Peter addressed Jesus, saying, “Lord it is good for us to be here!” Matt 17:1-4

Any clubs, groups or parishioners who might be interested in attending this event are encouraged to organize a watch party. This could be a group of parishioners sitting around a laptop together or the webinar could be projected so that a larger group might watch together. We hope to see you there!

SAINT MATILDA
“Since nothing is more contrary to love than envy, and the mother of envy is pride, to cure our boundless conceit by a more powerful antidote, the Lord Jesus Christ, God and man, became both the proof of God’s love for us, and the example of humility among us.”
