Events of this week in the United States Capitol have brought shock and sorrow to so many of us, not only in the violence, injuries and loss of life that we have witnessed, but also in the stinging blow to our beliefs and hopes as a people. As we seek to address this painful situation, let us not neglect the role of faith, and pray with ever greater conviction for this republic of ours that out of this tragedy we may become more perfectly “one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.” – Fr.
