Remembering Pope Francis: A Life of Compassion | From the Desk of Fr. Rob

Dear Friends in Christ,

We join the faithful around the world in deep sadness over the passing of Pope Francis, and in profound gratitude for his life of service to our Church and to all of God’s people.

Pope Francis was a servant leader who lived a life of outward simplicity. He was relentlessly committed to the welfare of those on the margins. His remarkable compassion for the poor was a lasting reminder of how the good news of the Gospel is for the benefit of all people.

He was a willing listener to all voices, whether it was a simple conversation or his worldwide effort to hear the voices of all faithful during his Synod on Synodality.

He inspires us all to live life for others when he proclaims: “Life is good when you are happy. But life is better when others are happy because of you.” May we strive to follow his example to create a community where all are welcome.

We pray for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis, and for the Holy Spirit to continue to guide our Church and our world to peace.
