The presentation traces the history of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, from its early Irish missionary roots in Philadelphia to its formal establishment in 1874. It explores the Province’s historical role regionally in founding parishes, schools, missions, and salient institutions such as Villanova University, while highlighting the friars who shaped Catholic life in the United States.

Program Leader: Dr. D.P. Curtin
Dr. Curtin is an Irish-American psychologist, author, and theologian. He holds degrees from Villanova University, Chestnut Hill College, and Chatham University and serves as Scholar-in-Residence for the Lay Augustinians of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Scriptorium Project, an initiative devoted to translating and preserving historical Christian texts. He has written on the confluence of religion, psychology, and culture and has appeared in First Things, Public Discourse, Law & Liberty, Providence Magazine, Montreal Review of Books, and Front Porch Republic.
