Great progress is being made on the Cascia Center at the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia in South Philadelphia! In the month since groundbreaking, the construction team from Domus and the architects from Cecil Baker + Partners have made quick work of the excavation. Representatives from the Shrine, the Province, and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia have also been meeting with the architects to finalize the materials that will be used on the exterior of the building. The exterior will be a combination of brick and decorative stone that will accentuate the Shrine’s existing design, while also acknowledging the architecture of South Philadelphia’s rowhomes.
